We had a great meeting at The Moore Institute this week and are looking forward to learning more about all their nutrition-related research, advocacy and outreach! Some of their programs focus on epigenetics and the developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD). Epigenetics is the study of how genes are influenced and switched on and off based on environmental factors, including nutrition. DOHaD focuses on how nutrition especially affects us early in the womb and impacts lifelong and multi-generational health.
Looking at nutrition in the broader context and how it affects not just an individual but multiple generations; We love it!
For more on this concept listen to this short radio interview with Dr. Kent Thornburg, Director of the Moore Institute.
